Europe Update

I arrived in Amsterdam late caused by a mechanical issue with the plane. I had a few hours to kill so Pastor Dan and I went downtown to visit Corrie Ten Boom's House in Haarlem. Haarlem is a beautiful quaint town filled with bikes and cobblestone roads. Unfortunately we missed the last tour of Corrie Ten Boom's home and we were only able to see it from the outside. Hopefully we will be able to take the tour next Monday when we return to Amsterdam. Leaving Amsterdam we arrived in Kortrijk, Belgium with a 9 passenger Van.

I am staying at a typical European house on the countryside, next to a field and surrounded by cows and windmills. I had a wonderful meal and went right to bed, knowing the next day would be a full day at a Russian church in Ghent, Belgium. When I got up in the morning, a wonderful European breakfast awaited me: Aged 4-year old cheese, Farm bread with pieces of chocolate melted on top and raspberry jam; In addition to that I had good coffee...

Today is Sunday, and we have concluded two days of ministry at the Russian church. We started early Saturday morning with Russian worship. Pastor Dan and I shared the teaching sessions during the rest of the day. This morning we concluded the service by publicly blessing the Pastor on the third anniversary of the church. One very interesting thing: The Russian church was comprised of many different nationalities such as Albania, Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Hungary, Armenia and Kasastan. Most of those people coming to faith in Christ after arriving in Belgium.

I am off now for a bowl of soup and another evening service tonight in Kortrijk, Belgium. We will depart early tomorrow morning to the eastern part of Germany near Dresden. On Tuesday we will arrive in Prague, Czech Republic. From there I will give you further updates.
Thank you for your prayers.

Europe, Europe, Europe!

Several years ago I had a deep impression I would be going to Europe on a frequent basis. Today is the beginning of my second trip in 2008. I will traveling with Pastor Dan Lee from Sturbridge Worship Center in Sturbridge, Massachutes and a ministry team of 9. We will be speaking in various churches, encouraging pastors and teaching leaders, visiting house churches, a drug rehab center, and many other ventures.

I leave today, Thanksgiving Day, departing from Nashville, to Washington, D.C., arriving in Amsterdam tomorrow morning to join the team and make our way to Belgium, then to a Russian Church. From there, we will travel to Berlin, Prague and the Czech Republic, and Herrnhut Germany, where the Moravian 100 year prayer revival began in the early 1700's.

Please pray for my family while I am away, the team, our safety and protection, favor, the pastors and churches in Northern Europe, I will return from this 12 day trip December 9. I will be posting with updates as I am able.
